OAK Access: Ingrid van der Eijk

“Isn’t it great if new innovations can substantially improve quality of life or even cure diseases? Which gives patients hope, dreams and a more beautiful future? This motivates me every day to give my utmost best to gain patient access to those innovations in the Netherlands.”

For over 15 years I have been working with pharmaceutical (biotech) companies in the area of market and patient access to new medicines. Besides more common medicines for larger patient groups, I have also worked with oncology treatments, cell and gene therapies and with severe, rare and genetic diseases. Moreover, I have had the opportunity to lead a Beneluxa as well as a EUnetHTA assessment for the company I worked for.

Over the years I have developed a deep knowledge and expertise in the field of market access. I am familiar with regulations and reimbursement procedures at national and regional levels. My extensive network includes various relevant parties, like medical professionals, expert centres, patient associations, reimbursement authorities like the Zorginstituut, Ministry of Health, Zorgverzekeraars Nederland and individual health care insurance companies. To a certain extent, my experience and network are also available in Belgium.

My most relevant characteristics are being a connector and team player, my attention to everyone’s interests, quickly finding solutions and always looking for ways to make things happen. I am transparent, honest and result-driven.
